If you grew up in St. Marys in the 70's you would have been greeted at 7:40 a.m. by Walter Schaut on WKBI-AM, wishing you a Happy Kunigunda Day. Schaut's Weather feature was very popular during this time. Each morning, he would greet listeners with "Good Morning Weatherbirds" According to lore, the date marks the occasion when the frost begins to come out of the ground.
