Cameron County Christmas Parade is set for Friday, December 6. It will step off at 7pm from the former Fourth Grade School on East Fourth Street. Parade organizers have added a judges stand which will be a prime location for parade watchers.
“For a number of years watchers have asked for the floats to slow down for better viewing,” Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Tina Solak remarked. This year the portable stage will be set up in front of the new chamber location at 24 West Fourth Street. Each participant will stop so the judges can have a birds eye view. The new location and adjacent parking lot will provide a prime viewing experience for parade watchers.
The chamber continues to accept entries for the parade. At this time there are 23 including a new group which is dedicated to Jeep riding and plans to decorate at least 8 vehicles. Smoker Logging will bring Santa Claus to downtown Emporium. Following the parade the community tree in the town square will be lit.
